The optical afterglow of the gamma ray burst GRB 101024A was observed by using the remote telescope that is located in Moorook, Australia. The photograph was taken by Markku Nissinen and the measurements were made by Markku Nissinen, Veli-Pekka Hentunen and Tuomo Salmi. The observation was published in GCN 11373 circular. The aflterglow was exceptional red. This is due the red shift of the object,  z > 2 (Laas-Bourez et al.). Based on this information it is calculated that the distance to the gamma ray burst was as long as 11.6 billion light years.
