Supernova SN 2009N is one of the supernovae that Taurus Hill Observatory monitors. The research team measures the brightness of the supernova regularly with the photometric R -filter. The results are posted to the Italian astronomers. The brightness of the SN 2009N changes very slowly and it is type IIP supernova. The brightness of the SN 2009N is still very close to its maximum brightness despite it was discovered in January 2009. The supernova is located in the galaxy NGC 4487 that is approximately 62 million light years from the Earth.

Observers: Veli-Pekka Hentunen and Markku Nissinen.
