Markku Nissinen and Veli-Pekka Hentunen photographed the confirmation picture from the supernova that was located in the galaxy UGC3552. Markku Nissinen took confirmation picture 20.10.2010 with GRAS07 CDK17" telescope that is located in Nerpio, Spain. Markku measured the position and brightness of the supernova. This supernova was first observed 16.10.2010. The discovery and confirmation was reported in CBET 2510 circular and the supernova got identification code SN 2010iz.
