The new main building project of the Taurus Hill Observatory moved forward with a big leap when Mansikka ry. granted 114 807,80 euros support for the project. The overall cost estimate of the project is 179 263 euros. The funding portion of the Taurus Hill Observatory is then 76 545,20 euros where 48 000 euros is covered by the voluntary work.

The main building will be 130 m2 house with classroom, kitchen, office room, accommodation room and sauna. The project includes also a new CCD-camera for the observatory. The construction of the main building will be started in August 2010 and the project should be finished by the end of the year 2013.
