THO research team photographed 144P/Kushida as a first comet of the year 2009. The sky was quite light so the comet wasn't as visible as in best conditions. The temperature was -9 celsius and the seeing was about 3.

Observers: Veli-Pekka Hentunen, Markku Nissinen and Harri Vilokki.
